Blog Post (Easter Island)
The life of the New England Forests and Easter Island are extremely different. After pilgrims came to Massachusetts and took over land, they eventually left either for financial reasons or for better job opportunities. And after the pilgrims left, the land they left was able to thrive. Not only were the species seen before the arrival of the pilgrims grew, but also new species were growing and becoming dominant. Every species helped another thrive and grow. On the other hand, Easter Island had an opposite outcome. Not only did the land suffer, but the humans ended up having to leave because of how poor the environment was. And the sad part is fate of Easter Island relates a lot to Earth as a whole. At the rate the we're going, Earth may end up like Easter Island. Just like how the people of Easter Island used up their forests for things like fire, buildings, transporting goods,( and building statues -____-) we here on Earth are also using up our forests for some of the same things if not more. By not knowing how to use our land properly, we are harming ourselves and the Earth just like how the Polynesians' not knowing caused Easter Island to fail.
